JellyTheatre · last updated 14 October 2026
JellyTheatre is a client for your own Jellyfin media server: a virtual cinema to watch your library on a Meta Quest. It has no account of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Its developer runs no server that receives your data.
What is stored, and where
On your headset only, in the browser's storage for this website:
- the address and name of your Jellyfin server;
- your Jellyfin user name and the access token Jellyfin issues when you sign in (never your password, which is only sent to your server when you sign in with it);
- a random device identifier, so your server can tell this headset's sessions apart;
- your settings (environment, subtitles, panel positions…).
None of this leaves the headset except to your own Jellyfin server.
What is sent to your Jellyfin server
JellyTheatre talks to the server you choose, as any Jellyfin app does: it signs in, reads your library, streams the films and episodes you play, and reports playback progress so your watch history and resume points stay in sync. That server is run by you or by whoever gave you access to it, and its own privacy practices apply.
Other services
- The app itself is served by GitHub Pages, which, like any web host, receives your IP address when the app is downloaded (see GitHub's privacy statement).
- The 3D engine may download the 3D models of the Quest controllers
from A-Frame's content delivery network (
cdn.aframe.io), and a model decoder from Google (gstatic.com). - When a title contains characters the app's font lacks (Japanese,
for example), matching fonts are downloaded from jsDelivr
(
cdn.jsdelivr.net).
These requests carry no personal data beyond what any web request reveals (your IP address and device type).
Removing your data
In JellyTheatre, open Settings → Account → Sign out: the
access token is forgotten and your server is told the session ended.
Uninstalling the app does not erase this website's storage on the
headset; to remove everything, clear the site data of
jellytheatre.vpelloin.eu in the Quest Browser's settings.
Your watch history stays on your Jellyfin server.
Children
JellyTheatre is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
